Join Our Celebration!
Dear Friend of the NAWCC,
As you may know, The National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors, Inc. (NAWCC) opened its world-famous Watch & Clock Museum to the public on November 6, 1977, nearly 40 years ago. Today, more than 15,000 people visit the Museum every year.
In celebration of the Museum's 40th Anniversary, the NAWCC is inviting all of our friends and supporters to join us along with an assemblage of members, patrons, international horological experts, institution leaders, and company executives who have a close association with the NAWCC in celebrating our museum's fortieth year!
On November 29th, 2017, the Museum hosted a special event including drinks, refreshments, hors d'oeuvres, special announcements and presentations. That event was just the beginning of the NAWCC's celebrations. On July 18 and 19, 2018, we will be remembering and celebrating the founding of our organization in 1943. We invite you to reserve these dates on your calendar—they will be events you will not want to miss.
Thank you for your support, loyalty, and commitment. We hope to see you in July 2018!
All the best of TIME to you…
Tom Wilcox, Executive Director
Museum Booklet Tells the Stories of Time
Last November more than 160 NAWCC members, staff, friends, and supporters — including representatives from modern watch brands RGM Watch Co. and F.P. Journe — gathered to celebrate the Watch & Clock Museum's 40th Anniversary. A 40th Anniversary commemorative booklet is now available!
As shown by these sample pages, the 44-page booklet provides an overview of the Museum's collection with beautiful photography and helpful information. From sun dials to monumental clocks to wrist watches, the booklet reflects how the Museum tells the story of the many intriguing methods of timekeeping used throughout human history.
The softcover booklet is available for sale through the NAWCC Gift Shop (email@example.com; 717-684-8261 ext. 211) for $7.99 plus shipping and handling. It is in full color and measures 7 1/2" × 7 1/2".
"We were very thankful to our sponsors for helping make the November celebration such a success," said Noel Poirier, Museum Director. "We are also thankful that their support helped to create this permanent reminder of an important moment in our history."
Our Latest Special Exhibit

Beginning in May of 2018, the museum will showcase some fine specimens of these clocks in the exhibit, "American Treasures: The Gottdenker Collection". Here, examples of many prominent American clockmakers will be displayed alongside one another to showcase a lifetime of collecting. American Treasures runs from May 17th through December 31st, 2018.
LECTURES & CLASSES
Pack a lunch and join the National Watch and Clock Museum for its Lunch "Time" presentation.
On the second Wednesday of every even-numbered month, the Museum invites the public to join in a casual conversation and understanding of the story behind these pieces. "We wanted to provide a more intimate opportunity for people to discover objects from the Museum collection, or learn about important and interesting aspects of the history of time and timekeeping. We thought a brown bag lunch would be the perfect fit," explains Poirier.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a bag lunch for this casual conversation.
On the third Saturday of each odd-numbered month, The National Watch & Clock Museum's Director, Noel Poirier, hosts a fascinating lecture in the Museum classrooms on some horological topic based an aspect of the Museum collection.
Mr. Poirier has been the National Watch & Clock Museum's Director for over ten years, as well as being a Accreditation and Peer Reviewer for the American Alliance of Museums.
It's time to sip on some hops and check out the clocks! The National Watch and Clock Museum will hold its eleventh annual beer-tasting event, Hops 'n' Clocks, on Friday, July 6, from 6 to 9 p.m. Sample local brews and the area's fine food, enjoy live music, and maybe even win a door prize!
"The People's Choice" will be awarded at the conclusion of the evening after everyone has visited all the breweries and restaurants and voted by ballot for his or her favorite!
A limited number of tickets will be sold. Attendees must be 21 or older, and IDs will be checked at the door. The ticket price includes beer tasting, food sampling, a commemorative glass, Museum admission, live music, and a chance to win a door prize!
